Nano Lash Line SPMU. Your experience at UP® and the healing process.
Before your appointment:
Please ask your stylist if you have any questions about the treatment, aftercare procedures or any potential side effects. Advise your stylist if anything changes between completing the allergies, conditions, medication and treatments section on this form and receiving your treatment.
For your safety and comfort we kindly ask that you do not consume any alcohol, non-prescription drugs or caffeine on the day of your treatment, ideally 24 hours prior.
During your appointment:
Let your stylist know if you experience any discomfort - temporary itching or swelling may occur during your treatment but is natural. Photos of your treatment are required for our records - please let us know if you do not wish these photos to be used for training and/or promotional purposes.
After your appointment – caring for your new Lash Line:
The quality and longevity of your lash line depends on how you look after it during the critical healing time. Your stylist will provide details about the best way to care for it.
We recommend you do not apply any other creams or makeup to your lash line during the first 3-4 weeks, and avoid applying to immediately surrounding areas for at least 4 days following your appointment.
We recommend avoiding unnecessary exposure to the sun, tanning, saunas or intense physical exercise, for 2-3 weeks following your treatment. We recommend avoiding any beauty treatments affecting the face or skin in the eye area, within 4 weeks before or after any lash line treatment.
The healing process – how your lash line will progress:
Each client will experience a different healing process, depending upon age, skin type, ink shade and a host of other factors. However, in most cases clients will follow a process similar to the outline below:
Day one after your appointment: Your lash line will look great and similar to how it will appear in its final semi- permanent form! However, remember you will need to progress through a healing process and a second session before your lash line journey is complete. Some clients will require a third session. Expect some changes in the coming weeks – they are all part of the process.
Days two to four: Your body is adjusting to your new lash line. You may notice that the treated area appears even darker than it did on day one – this is natural and part of the process. Don’t worry that lash line will end up looking too dark as it will in fact fade during the healing process and return to a similar shade to the look you experienced on day one, up to and once you have received your second session.
Days four to eight: You may notice that micro-scabs have formed on your lash line as it heals. This is part of the process – please allow these to form naturally and do not scratch or pull the scabbed tissue off. This may result in pigment being removed from your new lash line. Scabbed tissue is likely to fall off naturally, in small patches, leaving behind hypopigmented skin – a “baby” skin with a very light or pinkish colour. Here’s one of the most important things to remember - your lash line may appear patchy and uneven at this stage, however this will not last! You have progressed through an important part of the healing process.
Days eight to fourteen: You will notice that your lash line has faded quite significantly from day one – in some cases clients worry it has disappeared! Don’t worry – it will slowly begin to darken again as you head towards your second session.
Days fourteen to forty-two: Your lash line will darken a little as this time progresses, but will not return to full intensity until your second session. Continue to look after the area and remember to book in for your complimentary lash line health check around 3-4 weeks after your first session.
Day forty-two plus: Your second session is finally here! Your stylist will check your lash line again and discuss colour and intensity with you before commencing your session. A small number of clients require a third touch-up session, to reach their final result. Once your final session is complete your lash line will look as good as new and should last consistently until your next touch-up session. Many clients achieve results up to 12 months, though this depends on age, skin type, ink shade and other factors, as set out above. Enjoy your new lash line!
